Well #peterborough today ended our 2nd fundraiser/customer appreciation day this year. This time you ALL crushed it to tune of $2,881.00! It was great to see our community come out and support this amazing charity!
This will probably be the last event we hold in our old building...sad to see all the memories and history go but excited for all the new and exciting changes yet to come! Many, many thanks to our awesome staff for coming out today and helping make this a success once again! Special thanks to all the Angel's who came out today...it's great to see you all for the 3rd year! AND thanks to everybody who donated and came out today and had some chili and dogs and hung out with us...it was great to talk to you all from the other side of the counter! Shout out to Jodi who had the first donation of the day and Rod (who did metal donation pick ups)...YOU GUYS ROCK!!
Peterborough Humane Society
April 1st ~ July 6th, 2019
What a great day Peterborough! Hot as it was we still had a great turnout to support the Peterborough Humane Society! At the end of the day we turned over 27,000 pounds of scrap metal and electronic donations into cash for a total of $2221.60! Way to go #ptbo! We are so glad to be part of such an amazing community! Congrats to Paul Wannamaker on his BIG WIN! Dinner and a Movie!
Kawartha Haliburton Children's Foundation

Once again Peterborough, YOU DID IT!!! Over $2300.00 was raised in scrap donations! Your generosity and Christmas Spirit did so much to help out the kids of the Kawartha Haliburton Children's Foundation. Almost 28,000 POUNDS of scrap metal was donated by YOU and recycled by us, and turned into CASH to purchase gifts and gift cards for these at risk children.

PTBO Needs
July 3rd ~ September 8th
Another great day at Nurse Scrap Metal. Although it was a bit 'chili' out we still had an awesome turnout. Everybody warmed up by the BBQ with a bowl of chili and a hot dog! Big winners of the day were Bryan Ditchburn (Makita tool set), Bill Middleton (Oldies mystery concert tickeys), Al Carlaw ( Uniglassplus/Ziebart gift card) and Lenny Shephard (Petes tickets and gift card). By the end of the day we managed to raise $2180.50 for Ptbo Needs who split the money between 5 local charities! Victim Services, Community Care, CCRC, YWCA and The Warming Room each received $436.10! Thanks to everybody who donated and came out and to enjoy the day!

To the AMAZING people of Peterborough, we would like to thank you for all for the overwhelming support we received for our Crushing for a Cause event which wrapped up June 23rd. With your help we were able to donate $5054.05 to the Global Angel Charitable Organization! It was great seeing you all come out on Saturday to enjoy the BBQ and the lucky ones got to see the John Deere shear up a tractor that was donated in mere minutes! What a beast! Congrats to the lucky winner of the BBQ, Steve Buck, and the winner of our 'share this post' Facebook contest, Mike Brown! We'd like to put a special thank you to 'Hollywood' Adam Huggins who was broadcasting the fun live on Facebook Saturday, Awesome job Adam! Coming up next we're crushing for PTBO Needs! Another successful Crush for the Kawartha Haliburton Children's Foundation! This year you managed to donate $1,711.00 in scrap metal and spare change! You guys all did such an awesome job that we kicked in $1000.00 in Walmart Gift cards too! So in total $2,711.00 was donated to the KHCF to help the children and teens have a very Merry Christmas! Peterborough Rocks!!!
Global Angel Charitable Organization

Yet another amazing turnout, this time to support the Global Angel Charitable Organization! All the regulars were here and tons of new faces. So many donations for this amazing cause, cars, tractors, ambulances and mountains of scrap metal! $4004.92 was raised to help provide assistance with medical transportation costs to those in need of treatment, return home from hospital, palliative care and special wishes.

Wow Peterborough, you've got AMAZING Christmas Spirit!! With Cash and scrap metal donations totaling $1,943.86 we were able to go out and purchase $680.00 in gift cards to Walmart and Lansdowne Place, AND over $1,200.00 in toys for the Kid's of the Kawartha Haliburton Children's Foundation. This community is truly awesome when it comes to helping out others and we are glad to be a part of it! Thanks Peterborough, we crushed it BIG TIME for JA Peterborough, Lakeland, Muskoka for a grand total of $1989.60!! We had George Gall, Maureen Callery and Rebecca Corbeau from the Junior Achievers here to answer questions and Oldies 96.7/Extra 90.5 cruised by and Robyn Beazely hung out for a while (We had some fun with the Fugitive poster and the Crane lol) Big winner this month was Ian Donaldson who took home the grand prize of $500.00!! Honeymoon Suite Concert Tickets winners were Rod McConkey, Mike Conlin and David Veselousky. Uniglass/Plus Ziebart Car Wash Cards winners were Tim the Scrapper, Mike Conlin, Randy Gillingham, Kraig Nelson and Jodi Lean! Winner of our Facebook Like/Share Contest was Amy Steele. Mark Shuwera their Executive Director was on site for the day to support this AMAZING cause. Our winners this month were... WOW Peterborough, you got Heart!! 20,958 pounds of scrap, in addition to $536.00 in cash donations, totaling a whopping $1,561.01 donated to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Peterborough! Big winners of $100 cash prizes were Peter Donoghue, Mike Fraser and Jody from Summit Mechanical. Awesome turnout once again when we crushed for the Canadian Cancer Society of Peterborough! In total $2005.69 was raised June 25th! Our Grand Prize winner was Dave Tedford who took home $300.00 cash for donating the most scrap, Bryan Ditchburn was a winner once again taking home the prize draw for $200.00. Winners of the Uniglass Plus Ziebart car wash cards were Richard Mathews, Bill Middleton, Lenny Shepherd, Dave Tedford, Bryan Ditchburn and George Roberts! Our very first Crushing for a Cause at Nurse Scrap Metal. We had an OVERWHELMING amount of support from the community to make this event a HUGE success. We gave away a Char Broil Gas BBQ to Bryan Ditchburn of JUNK BEE GONE for bringing in the biggest donation of the day, Andrew Couch won the Peterborough Petes Tickets and $50.00 Pete's Store card and Tasha LaFave won the $25.00 Esso gas gard for our Facebook 'share our fundraiser' contest! In total we managed to raise $1,469.11 in Scrap Metal donations and another $665.60 in the monthly donation jar for a total of $2134.71!!! Peterborough Rocks!!!
